Went to a block party celebrating the local subway shuttle. Very cute. We need more hyper-local, eccentric neighborhood gatherings.
Last week was the first full week of work since mid-August. Five days of work in a row, what a concept! The pace felt relentless, just constantly moving from one responsibility and location to another. I'm sure it will feel natural as time goes on, and we get to adjust and decide what works and fine-tune it all. I'm glad to have had the weekend, though, if only for contrast. Saturday felt especially delicious and full of possibility.
Books
The Hard Way. Finally done. The wind-down was predictably heartless and gruesome and felt like a bit of a grind. But otherwise appreciate the twists and turns. Light as a feather, nothing wrong with turning the pages. "Reacher said nothing."
Black Wings Has My Angel. Now here's one with some pizazz in the sentences! Trashy mid-century noir can be reliable that way.

An idiot in motion goes farther than a genius at rest. "Being prolific is its own promotional strategy."

Chiricahua National Monument Becomes America’s Newest National Park. Cool! I got to sample some of those high desert sky islands when I did a volunteer trip out in Saguaro NP some years ago. Nice country.
Music
Laryssa Okada, Manifold Garden OST.
Les Heures Bleues, Circa Diem.
A few from Karol G...
- No Me Arrepiento De Sentir Tanto. I really like "Alguien que te amaba".
- Tropicoqueta
- Unstoppable. This last one was pretty bland, something lost.
Early Music Consort of London, Music of the Crusades and Instruments of Middle Age and Renaissance.
Biosphere, Microgravity.
Rosapaeda, Mater Heart Folk.

TV
WandaVision, s1e8. Agatha is fun. I both really appreciate the reveals about the source of the heartache and Wanda's motivations while also feeling very impatient and annoyed with backstory-splaining. Can't have it both ways?
